وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةَۢ بَاقِيَةً۬ فِى عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ (٤٣:٢٨)
And he made it a Word lasting among his descendants, so that they may return (43:28).
Correlating Hadith
[Imam] al-Baqir, regarding the Saying of Allah the Mighty and Majestic: "And he made it a Word lasting among his descendants, [so that they may return]" [43:28], said: "It [i.e. the 'Word lasting,' which refers to the Imamate] is regarding [the descendants of Imam] Hussain. This matter [Imamate] has continued without interruption since it [the Imamate] had transferred to Hussain, passing from father to son, and it will not return to a brother or an uncle [as was the case with the transferal of the Imamate between the brothers Imam Hasan and Hussain]. And not one of them [the Imams] left the world without having a son."
الباقر (علیه السلام)- فِی قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ جَعَلَها کَلِمَةً باقِیَةً فِی عَقِبِهِ قَالَ إِنَّهَا فِی الْحُسَیْنِ (علیه السلام) فَلَمْ یَزَلْ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ مُنْذُ أَفْضَی إِلَی الْحُسَیْنِ (علیه السلام) یَنْتَقِلُ مِنْ وَالِدٍ إِلَی وَلَدٍ وَ لَا یَرْجِعُ إِلَی أَخٍ وَ لَا إِلَی عَمٍّ وَ لَا یَعْلَمُ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الدُّنْیَا إِلَّا وَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ
