وَقَرۡنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجۡنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَأَقِمۡنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّڪَوٰةَ وَأَطِعۡنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۚ ۥۤ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذۡهِبَ عَنڪُمُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ تَطۡهِيرً۬ا (٣٣:٣٣)
God intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification (33:33).
Correlating Hadith:
Imam Ali said: “The Messenger of Allah slept and made me and my wife, [Sayyida] Fatima, and my two sons, [Imam] Hasan and [Imam] Hussain, sleep, and [the Prophet] cast his cloak upon us. Allah the Blessed and Exalted revealed about us: 'God intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification' [33:33]. And [Angel] Gabriel said: ‘I am from you all, O Muhammad!’ So, Gabriel was the sixth.”
أمیرالمؤمنین: ( فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَامَ وَ نَوَّمَنِي وَ زَوْجَتِي فَاطِمَةَْ وَ ابْنَي الْحَسَنَ وَ الْحُسَیْنَ وَ أَلْقَی عَلَیْنَا عَبَاءَهًًْ قَطَوَانِیَّهًًْ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَك وَ تَعَالَی فِینَا إِنَّما یُرِیدُ اللهُ لِیُذْهِبَ عَنْکُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَ یُطَهِّرَکُمْ تَطْهِیراً وَ قَالَ جَبْرَئِیلُ أَنَا مِنْکُمْ یَا مُحَمَّدُ فَکَانَ سَادِسُنَا جَبْرَئِیلَ
