Imam Hussain said in [one of his] supplications: “My God! My preoccupation with traces and signs results in distancing from the Shrine [seeing You], so gather all my faculties to Your service through work that will take me to You. How can something that needs You for its very existence be used to prove Your existence? Are there things other than You of manifestation that are not from You that can then be used to reveal You? When were You ever absent that You should need any evidence to prove Your existence? It is through You alone that I arrive to You. So with Your light, guide me to Yourself.”
