فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
And the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved (44:29).
Correlating Hadith
A man from the enemies of Allah and His Messenger [Prophet Muhammad] passed by him [Imam Ali], and [Ali] said: "And the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved" [44:29]. Then [Imam] Hussain bin Ali passed by him [Ali], so he [Ali] said: "But this is the one upon whom the sky and the earth will be weeping." And he [Ali] said: "And the sky and the earth will not weep upon anyone except for Yahya bin Zakariyya and Hussain bin Ali."
- عَنْ عَبْدِ‌اللَّهِ‌بْنِ‌الْفُضَیْلِ الْهَمْدَانِي عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ أَمِیرِ‌الْمُؤْمِنِینَ (علیه السلام) قَالَ مَرَّ عَلَیْهِ رَجُلٌ عَدُوٌّ لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ فَما بَکَتْ عَلَیْهِمُ السَّماءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ ما کانُوا مُنْظَرِینَ ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَیْهِ الْحُسَیْنُ‌بْنُ‌عَلِيَّ (علیه السلام) فَقَالَ لَکِنْ هَذَا لَتَبْکِیَنَّ عَلَیْهِ السَّمَاءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ قَالَ وَ مَا بَکَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ إِلَّا عَلَی یَحْیَی‌بْنِ‌زَکَرِیَّا (علیه السلام) وَ الْحُسَیْنِ‌بْنِ‌عَلِیٍّ (علیه السلام).
