“Oh Tranquil soul (27) Return to your Lord, well pleased [with Him] and well pleasing [to Him] (28) So join My servants (29) and enter My Paradise (30)” (89:27-30).

Correlating Hadith

Imam al-Sadiq said: “Recite the Surah al-Fajr in your obligatory as well as in your recommended prayers for it is a surah of [Imam] Hussain bin Ali. So desire it [Surah al-Fajr] for through it God will bestow mercy upon you.” Abu Usama asked him [al-Sadiq], “How did this Surah come to be for Hussain in particular?” He [al-Sadiq] replied: “have you not heard [Allah’s] Exalted Saying, ‘Oh Tranquil soul (27) Return to your Lord, well pleased [with Him] and well pleasing [to Him] (28) So join My servants (29) and enter My Paradise.’ [These verses] refer to Hussain bin Ali for he is the ‘Tranquil soul,’ (28) ‘well pleased [with Him] and well pleasing [to Him]’ (29), and his companions (ashab) and the companions of the Progeny of Muhammad are pleased with God on the Day of Judgement, and He will be pleased with them. And this Surah has been revealed regarding Hussain bin Ali and his Shi’as, and the Shi’as of the Progeny of Muhammad especially. One who habitually recites [Surah] al-Fajr would be with Hussain at his level in Paradise. Surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.”
